... For a long time orphans in Zimababwe have been
one of the most underpriviledged groups. The advent of HIV/AIDS has
necessitated the creation of an organization such as ndini wako.
The greatest number of orphans are in rural communities. In
2004 it was estimated that Zimababwe had 700,000 HIV/AIDS orphans, infected and
affected by the virus. This situation was aggravated by the draught which put
a strain on already meagre rescources. The orphan situation is one
that is self propagating.
The idea is to raise funds for the education of the children using the Arts. Zimabwean art is characterized by its inimitable vernacular. ndini wako hopes to harness the creative prowess of Zimbabwean art in its entirety and channel it towards the aspirations of this philanthropic endeavor. |
