Welcome to Maine Berry Hill!

There are bears on Maine Berry Hill. As you may have guessed from its name Maine Berry Hill is covered with berries, from early wild strawberries, to blueberries, to late summer blackberries.

It is also home to an old bear, named Lil, who enjoys sharing the berries with friends. Old Lil has been sharing some of her tales with Jude Lamb who is, even as you read this, busily painting pictures of Maine Berry Hill, and Lil and her friends. Check back soon to hear how Jude's painting is going, and find out when you can read Lil's story.

Meanwhile, take a look at some of Jude's paintings, meet some of her family, Pokey, a Maine Coon cat, and see some scenes of Bar Harbor, Maine.

Maine Berry Hill is one of the most beautiful spots in Maine. The view to the south is a sparkling lake surrounded by rolling hills. To the east is the Atlantic Ocean and some small islands covered with spruce trees.

It can be cold here in winter. Usually for a week or two in January the thermometer stays around zero, and cold arctic winds raise whitecaps on the bay. When the snow comes everyone gets out to enjoy it. It may not stay for long, as the temperatures will rise, and we often get rain here in winter.
